Full instructions & precision cut card pieces to make one Victorian style patchwork pincushion in a fabric of your choice.
Approx finished size: Isohedron 80mm
These dimensional pincushions were traditionally made by Victorian ladies using up scraps of fabric and pieces of card they had carefully cut to shape. This kit brings this up to date by including precision cut card pieces so that you can get on with the making!
The method uses 'English Paper Piecing' patchwork techniques to create a 3 dimensional fabric shape. The pins are placed along the seam lines to ensure the ornament keeps its shape. Padding is not normally used, which means that the finished shapes are light - this space can also be used to add bells or rice to create a shaker ornament, or wadding can be included to add more weight.
Additional embellishments such as tassels, sequins, beads and stitching can all be included to create a unique bauble.
